The Ereğli City Museum is in the Cıbıroğlu Mansion, a traditional 19th-century Ereğli house with a ground floor and two upper floors. Karadeniz Ereğli Municipality opened the building as a city museum in 2014. It's about 40 minutes from Akçakoca along the coast road.
On each floor there are information panels about the town's historical development. Seeing Ereğli's story from ancient Herakleia Pontike to today together with the archaeological finds of the Ereğli Museum a few hundred metres away helps you get to know the town better.
